The idea of create this line of shorts appeared in the last semesters of university of the owner of the brand, with the desire of starting their own business directed to the textile industry. But this dream was let behind for some years for accept other job opportunities that helped him to grow as a professional. And after he graduated of Engineer of Marketing and to face the job situation in the country is when he decided to start his business, which was a brand of short exclusively for men.
Poloniego started with a collection of beach shorts but once the season was over, and thanks to the acceptance of its clients, his owner decided to continue with new items under the same concept but a little more casual and suitable for cities.
At the beginning Poloniego was mainly oriented to young people, but after months has expanded their target, because from children to adults join to the #PoloniegoAttitude and represent the dynamism of the brand; because you can change from a fairly informal style to a more casual style and this give you the advantage to has several options with the same short; so you can wear Poloniego while you are practicing skate, for a lunch with you family or for a party on the beach.
His first beach shorts came out on December 29 of 2014, the brand had a huge success and acceptance of public because to the next day his first shorts were sold out. The product has evolved, for example from its confection to its packaging, even the buttons are made of Tagua and are engraved with the brand name, also as the initiative of implement an olfactory marketing with a unique smell for Poloniego, and with this the owner of the brand looks for give to their customers a different shopping experience.
Poloniego has been in the market for almost a year, and during this time has appeared in several television programs and in radio to promote his products, as well as fairs and magazines which has helped the brand to gain more market and to make other people know about the Poloniego Attitude. But his main medium of promotion is social networks, which nowadays have a huge role in the way of doing business.
People who use Poloniego have to be risky, because the colors of his designs breaks all the traditional schemes of fashion that people in Ecuador are used to, also a person which wears a Poloniego must to feel comfortable with, and above all must to be a lover of what is made in Ecuador. These clothes are 100% Ecuadorian, made with materials derived from the gabardine fabric and with national labor.
